MoonPay Teams with Interac to Simplify Crypto Buys in Canada

MoonPay has joined with Interac to let Canadians buy crypto directly from their bank accounts. Starting today, users can fund purchases in Canadian dollars through Interac e-Transfer. The move removes currency conversions and gives access to a payment system millions already use daily.

According to the press release, this partnership is powered by Paramount Commerce, which enables a quick process for customers. Buyers only need to select their bank, approve the transfer inside their app, and the payment is done. “Canada is one of the fastest-growing crypto markets, and Interac is the gold standard for payments here,” said Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO of MoonPay.

MoonPay said the new option gives people fast transactions powered by Interac e-Transfer for Business. It also offers security backed by banks and credit unions across the country. Most importantly, payments happen in Canadian dollars with no hidden charges or extra steps.

Interac is one of Canada’s most trusted payment networks. It is already used by millions every day for transfers, bills, and online shopping. By adding it to MoonPay, Canadians can now use the same trusted method to enter the crypto world

Paramount Commerce added that the integration uses Interac e-Transfer Request Money. This makes the process seamless by linking directly with customer bank apps and removing the need for manual details.

The launch is live today. Any eligible Canadian user can now buy Bitcoin or other digital assets as easily as paying rent or splitting a brunch bill. As MoonPay put it, the excuse that buying crypto is “too hard” may no longer stand.
