SharpLink and Superstate to Tokenize SBET Stock on Ethereum

SharpLink Gaming, one of the largest public holders of Ether, announced plans on Thursday to tokenize its Nasdaq-listed SBET stock on Ethereum with Superstate. The move, filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, will use Superstate’s Opening Bell platform to bring equity onchain.

According to the press release, this step will allow its SEC-registered common stock to be held natively on Ethereum. SharpLink named Superstate as its Digital Transfer Agent and will work with the firm on future developments.

“Tokenizing SharpLink’s equity directly on Ethereum is far more than a technological achievement — it is a statement about where we believe the future of the global capital markets is headed,” said Joseph Chalom, co-CEO of SharpLink.

Meanwhile, Superstate confirmed that SharpLink will be the first public company to tokenize its shares on Ethereum using its Opening Bell platform.

“We’re very pleased to be partnering with SharpLink as they build the ecosystem for tokenized equity on Ethereum and beyond,” said Superstate CEO Robert Leshner.

SharpLink and Superstate also plan to explore how tokenized equities could one day be traded on Automated Market Makers and other decentralized finance platforms in compliance with regulations. The company noted the work aligns with the SEC’s Project Crypto initiative, which aims to modernize securities rules for blockchain markets.

Joseph Lubin, SharpLink’s chairman and co-founder of Ethereum, added, “As one of the largest corporate holders of ETH, this major step forward reinforces SharpLink’s conviction that Ethereum is the foundation upon which the next generation of financial infrastructure will be built.”

Founded in 2019, SharpLink shifted its focus in 2025 toward building a corporate Ether reserve. The company now holds more than 838,000 ETH, according to Coingecko, and has earned staking rewards since adopting its treasury strategy
