Pipe Network Launches Mainnet and $PIPE Token for Solana

Pipe Network has launched its mainnet together with its native $PIPE token on the Solana blockchain.

The release follows several months of testing that started early in 2025. The network is designed to make data storage and delivery quicker and more affordable for users around the world.

According to the team, the testnet phase processed over 60 petabytes of data and moved more than one billion files through nearly 290,000 Points of Presence nodes. This resulted in up to 70 percent lower latency compared to standard content delivery networks.

“We see this mainnet launch as a signal that our decentralized CDN is ready to go live and compete against Cloudflare and other web2 giants,” said David Rhodus, founder of Permissionless Labs, a core contributor to Pipe Network. He added that the growing number of global nodes proves the model can provide strong performance for large-scale platforms.

The network features several core products, including Pipe CDN, Pipe Firestarter Storage, and new zero-knowledge transfer protocols called zkTCP and zkQUIC. It also powers SolanaWave, an open explorer that lets users search any transaction in Solana’s history.

Firestarter Storage alone hosts Solana’s full block data, now exceeding one petabyte. The team plans more upgrades before the end of the year, including a node performance boost and a liquid staking system with Jito Foundation.

Notably, the $PIPE token debuted at $0.30 but dropped to about $0.25 within hours of trading, a 29% fall. It is now listed on Binance, Gate.io, KuCoin, and Kraken in the EU. Holders can use tokens to buy network services or stake them to earn rewards.

Early node operators will receive “double rewards” for a year under a new “workdrop” plan. While some users criticized the delayed payouts, the company assured that rewards would arrive monthly as the network grows.

Pipe Network says it aims to become the first full-stack decentralized cloud for Solana developers and Web3 projects.
